Textures by

. Lightbeams by Rita. Dandelion by God. :-)
I have been playing with
Jerry of ShadowHouse's textures once again on this photo I took in our former bluebonnet patch yesterday. Now it is a huge weed patch that is almost ready to be mowed.
I used my favorite lens on this shot, the
Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Zoom
. I have had this lens for years and years (before I went digital) and if something happened to it I would instantly replace it. Seriously, this lens does it all! The only time I take it off is when I put on my
Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II
. I use that one inside because our house is quite dark due to the million live oaks we have growing around it. :-) But I also use my 28-135 inside all of the time because it is a decent low-light lens due to the IS. I also use the 50mm lens outside for portraits and Army guys shots. ;-)
I also learned a new EASY method to add lightbeams and I am writing up the tutorial for my blog this week. It will cover the before to after of this photo you see above. I wish I had more time to play with textures because I love them. And I have such a great time turning a dandelion weed into art. Should I put the art in quotes??? ;-)
I also wanted to point out this great link,
Webtreats ETC. I just found them by a lark and they have an amazing
resource of completely free patterns and textures, including ones that will look great on your blog AND your images. And you can use them personally or commercially.
Hope you all had a great weekend! I will be posting a new tutorial by Morgan and a few other things I have up my sleeve. Tons of new stuff headed your way!!!
