CoffeeShop "Moody" Lightroom Preset Set!

Oh boy, I haven't been on here for so long and I apologize.

We have had a family cold, then a short beach trip, and just a lot of other little things going on. Imp had his first Civil Air Patrol Cadet promotion. We have a ongoing window leak under a balcony that as of yet hasn't been found, lots of rain and some cold fronts (October has given us weather in the 30's to the 90's), Astro baseball watching (sad face), a death of one of our senior beloved pet rats, and the list goes on.

I have had these presets sitting on my computer since September and since today is Halloween I thought it would be a fun day to share them. They are called "Moody" and include 3 different presets, one that is super glossy and two that are matte. These look amazing on so many images, I love using them! I don't even adjust them much after running them other than using the radial brush to add extra highlights (up the  exposure) where needed.

These are written for the newest Lightroom Classic, but if you have an older version and can't run these let me know in the comments and I will make them backwards compatible. I absolutely hate that Lightroom presets are now in a different format. ARGGGGGH! You can download the presets towards the bottom of this post.

So what are your plans tonight? We are skipping trick-or-treating since the boys are older but are starting a new tradition of staying in at home and having pizza, some candy treats, and watching a scary movie. Have a great night tonight!!!

CoffeeShop "Bold B&W" Fine Art Lightroom Preset Set!

I love Lightroom and wouldn't edit without it. If I were on a budget and didn't want to pay the monthly fee for Photoshop,  I would have Lightroom and PSE so I could have the best of both worlds with presets and actions.

I also love B&W editing and I wanted to share my "Bold B&W" Lightroom preset set with you. This set has gorgeous bold B&W edits and optional added light that really makes your images pop.

CoffeeShop "Bold B&W" Lightroom Preset Tutorial:

This preset set does use the Radial filter to add light to the top center of your image. You might want to adjust it or even remove it.

After apply the preset (CoffeeShop Bold Drama B&W Extreme in this example), click on the radial filter menubar (1) and then click on the dot (2) on the image to open the settings.

If you want to remove the radial filter simply click on it (2) and press the delete key.

Adjust the placement (1), then the settings (2) and finally click Close (3).

CoffeeShop "Silver Light B&W" Lightroom Preset Set!

Today I have a beautiful new fine art Lightroom set to share with you! The "Silver Lights B&W" preset set contains 6 stunning B&W presets and a simple "Reset It" tool.

I love this set!!! Whether you want a bright ethereal B&W or a dark dramatic one, you are covered. I even have some matte versions.

The examples above were run without any changes. In fact, I found that most of my images looked perfect without any tweaking. However, if you want to fine tune the edit, I suggest adjusting the Exposure, Highlights, Shadows, Whites, Blacks, and Clarity to get the perfect contrast.

CoffeeShop "Moody Blues" Lightroom Preset Set!

They are adding a new light at the intersection in front of my neighborhood and they had to cut the power most of the day yesterday. And they neglected to let any of us know! To make things even worse, they accidentally cut our phone line yesterday morning, so as of yesterday we have no internet or landline. So needless to say I am behind on work...

I don't create many Lightroom presets since I love the ones from Pretty Presets so much, but I get a lot of requests, so sometimes I get the urge to work on a set. Today I wanted to create a somewhat winterly moody edit, and I think this set is lovely.

You will have to apply it lightly to skin in portraits as it can make skin tones a little too cool.

CoffeeShop "Tinted B&W's" Lightroom Preset Set!

Last month I created a new set of tinted B&W Lightroom presets and I have finally got around to writing this post. This set contains six softly tinted presets (Ocean, Seaglass, Wheat, Rosy Glasses, Touch of Red Wine, Winter).

I posted some example images using my new preset set below. I just ran the preset on each image and made no adjustments. But you can easily adjust the settings on your own images.

CoffeeShop "Beauty and the Beast" Fairy Tale-Inspired Lightroom Preset Set!

Today I am trying to capitalize ;-) on the popularity of the new "Beauty and Beast" movie coming out by releasing a new fairy tale-inspired Lightroom preset set. This preset set has three presets:"Beauty and the Beast", "Add Light", and "Reset it All".

The "Beauty and the Beast" preset is a lovely pastel-tinted matte-enhancement and can be magical on many types of images. I really love using it on outdoor images with pretty light. Like all presets, it is easy to tweak for your own images.

You can use the "Add Light" preset on top of "Beauty and the Beast", alone, or on top of other presets/edits.

I used these original images from Unsplash in this post (girl in road, wedding couple, flower and wedding couple, girl in field, red berries, sweater and lace girl).

CoffeeShop "Beauty and the Beast" Lightroom Preset Tutorial:

This is the image after running the "Beauty and the Beast" preset with no adjustments.

Then I clicked on the "Add Light" preset in the set.

If you want to adjust the light you will have to adjust the graduated filter (M).

 Find the Graduated Filter tool as seen in the screenshot above circled in yellow. Click on it.

Look at your image and you will see all of the graduated filters marked with a gray circle, as seen above. You can hold your mouse over the gray circle to see a red tint where each filter is applied on the image.

Click on the gray circle and you will be able to adjust its settings.

I don't change much on this gradient filter, but I do adjust the exposure to add/remove light and also adjust the clarity. Feel free to adjust any of the sliders to taste.

You can also grab the gradient and move it around your image. In this case I should move it up because I feel there is too much light on her face.

Once you are satisfied with your edit, click Close.

CoffeeShop "Basic B&W" Lightroom Preset Collection!

I love B&W and wanted to create some classic B&W presets with different amounts of contrast that I could easily adjust for each image. I am really proud of this set, I think the B&W conversion is so nice on so many images.

This Lightroom preset collection has 2 basic B&W presets, with and without vignette. I usually don't have to adjust them too much after running them on an image, but if I do want to make minor changes  I generally adjust the Exposure and/or Contrast sliders on top.
