CoffeeShop "Golden Enchantment" Photoshop/PSE Action!

I am so excited to release my newest action, CoffeeShop "Golden Enchantment". This action can be stunning applied on outdoor portraits, still life, and landscapes. It really makes images glow with a beautiful soft afternoon light. And like most of my actions, "Golden Enchantment" is completely customizable for subtle to dramatic edits with just a few simple adjustments.

I also wanted to mention that you can get this action along with hundreds of my other favorite actions in one download and help support my site by visiting this page.  Purchase of my download packs allow me to blog and post freebies here, so thank you so much for helping me keep CoffeeShop free!

Here are some more before and after images using "Golden Enchantment". (bluebells, levitation, mountain lake, forest)

A. Wilbanks Photography posted this before/after on my Facebook page. After editing the top image she ran "Golden Enchantment" and she said this action was the "kicker". :-)

CoffeeShop "Golden Enchantment" Action Tutorial:

I used this gorgeous image from Quimuns on Pixabay for my tutorial. I really love this image, she is so beautiful and I love the muted forest background.

Here is what the image looks like after running the action with no adjustments. Only the "Enchantment" layer is turned on. This is a nice effect and you can stop here if you want, but I am going to add some golden light.

All of the golden sun layers on top are turned off. You can customize the look by turning any or all of them on and adjusting their opacities and painting on their layer masks.

You can also lower the opacity of the "Enchantment" layer or paint on its layer mask to selectively remove it. If you want more control and have Photoshop, turn "Enchantment" off and turn on the "Enchantment Adjustable" layer underneath. That layer is the same effect with all the layers grouped together rather than flattened. You can individually adjust each layer by hand if needed (see forest screenshot below for an example).

For this edit I kept "Enchantment" at 100% and turned on all three golden light layers. I put "golden afternoon" at 47% opacity and removed that layer (layer mask tutorial) from her face and clothing using the layer mask. I kept "add sun" at 100% and used a soft black brush to remove it from her face. I put "sun haze" at 60% opacity and used the same black soft brush to remove it from her face.

I love how this action really makes her glow. She looks like she could be in a fairytale.

I even went one step further and added the Canvas 4 (Artistic Canvas Texture Set) to this image. I desaturated the texture and added it twice, once in overlay and once in soft light blending mode. I removed the texture from her face. I love adding textures.

I wanted to show you one more example. In this case I turned off the "Enchantment" layer and turned on and opened the "Enchantment Adjustable" grouped layers and adjusted each layer to taste. I turned off "Save the Whites".

Then I turned on the "golden afternoon" and "sun haze" layers and played with the opacities until I was satisfied.

I would love to see your before and afters on my Facebook page!!!

  3. I love your actions! I'm just curious if anyone else has had a problem with them running? Every time I run Golden Enchantment or Perfect Portrait 3 it only works on half of the picture. Like the top half has finished running but not the bottom and then it freezes. I have not had this issue with any other actions from other sites but these are my only two from here. Thank you!
