CoffeeShop "Soft Romance" Fine Art Photoshop/PSE Action!

Sorry I haven't been around much. I have had a sinus infection for a month and just haven't had much energy. But honestly, this was probably the best time of the year to get sick. It is summer, so only light homeschooling, and incredibly hot outside.

I tried every holistic approach to get well. Neti pot, vinegar vapor breathing, cayenne pepper/honey/cinnamon/vinegar drink (seriously, that one was GROSS), hot showers, a lot of sleep, bone broth, heating pads, etc. After over 2 weeks of feeling miserable I finally went to the doctor. She said I most likely did have an infection, but she thought my body was fighting it and I could wait on antibiotics for now.

I despise taking any type of meds, especially antibiotics, so I was completely willing to go another week as long as I did not get worse. She told me to take decongestants and Flonase daily, and I decided that at this point of my sickness I was going to embrace the over-the-counter drugs.

And I have been slowly feeling better the last few days! So from my personal experience nothing really helped except time. ;-)

My kids are mowing the lawn/weeding and I get to play on the computer. While I was sick Paul updated my computer with a new drive and more memory. Yay! So to celebrate I finally put together this new action that I have been working on for a while.

This action, called "Soft Romance", brightens and lightens an image and applies a beautiful soft tint. It is completely adjustable and looks gorgeous on so many different types of images. I hope you enjoy using it as much as I do!

  2. Hi!! First, you are AMAZING. Thank you for sharing your expertise so generously. You make *beautiful* images.
I am really loving the Soft Romance action. What a nice combination of creams and light! But I am bewildered by one of the layers and hope you can set me straight. When I was figuring out what everthing did, I could not parse that first layer. It starts out as a copy of the flattened original, but then it looks like a curves layer, but I can't see the curves?? The function of the layer is brightness, I know that. I am just super curious how you arrived at that layer.
In any case, love what the action does. Beautiful stuff! I am off to apply some textures now. Thanks, again!!!! <3

    1. Thank you so much msn!!! I would need to go back and look, but I think it was just a curves layer applied to the duplicate layer. PSE won't allow you to add a curves layer, but you can apply a curves filter on a duplicate layer. My go around to make sure my actions work in Photoshop and PSE.
