Keeping It Real...

Ok kids, stop hunting for eggs just for a second so I can get a picture of all of you together.  Stand in front of that pink flower thingie.  Wait, not there, there is poison ivy, move over to the right!  Your other right...  Grab the little kid quickly before he runs, and for goodness sake Duke, can you smile for a change?  This is an Easter egg hunt, not a trip to the dentist.

Ok, everyone smile - wait, the little one got away, grab him again and hold on tight!

Oh no, I think someone stepped in dog poop.  We will scrape it off after I get the picture. Oh, you think it is chicken poop?  No problem, that is less disgusting than dog poop.

Now, smile right now or I am going to take away all of your candy and eat it myself.  Seriously, if you don't smile I won't hesitate to spank all of you on Easter. I just want one picture with all of you facing my camera, it is that hard?

Duke, you better smile or I will give you something to frown about.  Look at Imp, he is only 4 and has a perfect smile.  And sweetie, please hold on to your brother, I really want a photo of him.

Don't move!  Snap, snap, snap.  Ok, I think I have it, no thanks to you guys.  You can go back to hunting for eggs.  Sweetie, let your brother go, you are hurting his arm.

And the professionals make it look so darn easy...  Please tell me that I am not alone in acting like a harpy for just one decent Easter snapshot.  ;-)  And is it only me, or does it crack you guys up that my boys don't even notice the little guy falling?  At least his sister looks concerned.  I hope he didn't fall in that dog/chicken poop...

I used my Golden Afternoon action on this image (turned down to 50% or so).  And no toddlers where harmed in the making of these photos.  And I did steal some of their candy, so there.

  2. You are absolutely not alone in this! I have to bribe, beg and bribe some more to get an almost descent photo!

  3. LOL! My husband got so mad at the kids' inability to sit still and face the camera for ONE photo that he stomped off to wait in the car. Who looked like the big baby then?

  4. Have to comment because yes, your portrayal is so very accurate of my house too, I usually bribe with candy, "just one good photo, please".

  5. Thanks for the laugh! I'm so glad I'm not alone in this! I tried to do Easter photos with my little ones and felt like a mean dictator as I clenched my teeth and tried to get them to look at the camera with open eyes at the same time. And that was only 2 kids!
