Today I wanted to post a new set of fine art overlays that I made from public domain glass negative plates. These look gorgeous layered on color and B&W images using Soft Light, Overlay, Screen, or Multiply. I hope you have as much fun using them as I do!!!

This edit was so easy! I just applied the CoffeeShop Glass Plate 1 in Overlay blending mode on top of the image.
Place the CoffeeShop Glass Plate 3 on top.
Drag the plate under the portrait and put the portrait layer in Overlay blending mode.
Add a Black-to-White Gradient Map layer on top.
Drag a copied Glass Plate layer on top and put it in Exclusion blending mode.
I love this effect, it softens the image and makes it look old and worn.
Add a Levels adjustment layer on top and put it in Soft Light blending mode and adjust the sliders under the curve to add back some contrast.
Place another Levels adjustment layer in Soft Light blending mode (no adjustments to the curve) over the portrait and clip it to it. This adds a little more contrast to the image.
If you want a softer effect, change the portrait layer from Overlay to Soft Light blending mode.
