CoffeeShop "Dark and Stormy Night" B&W Photoshop/PSE Action!

Today I wanted to post my newest free action called "Dark and Stormy Night". This dramatic and moody action creates an adjustable B&W edit with an optional matte effect and brown tint.  It looks especially gorgeous on images that  have really dramatic lighting.

This is the action I used on the editing tutorial I posted earlier this week (read the first part here and the last part here where I show you how I used Photoshop to add fake window light):

CoffeeShop "Dark and Stormy Night" Photoshop/PSE Action Tutorial:

Open your image.

Run the action. A Levels adjustment pane will pop up and you can move the sliders circled in the screenshot above to fine-tune the contrast (matte effect).  This layer can be adjusted again once the action finishes or even turned off.

Then press OK.

When the action finishes you will have a dramatic B&W edit. You can adjust each layer's opacity to taste or paint on layer masks if needed.

Click to turn on "Add Brown Tint" if you want a subtle brown tint applied to your image.  Adjust the opacity of the brown tint to taste.

I hope you enjoy using this new action!!!  Download the CoffeeShop "Dark and Stormy Night" Photoshop/PSE Action. You can also download it here.
