We ate at one of our favorite restaurants the day before getting sick, so that is most likely the cause. But it could also be something we had at home (eggs, fresh berries, salad, etc.) so I am tossing every likely subject just in case.
We are on a diet of rice, bananas, oatmeal, applesauce, roasted chicken, and coconut water. We usually eat pretty low-carb, but right now we need easily-digestable food. We made the mistake of eating a real meal the other day and really regretted it. If we don't get better in a few days we will visit the doctor, but right now we are just sticking it out since we aren't dehydrated and able to eat and drink and have three toilets.
The other concern this week was Tropical Storm Bill. We don't live too far from the Texas Gulf Coast so we take these things seriously, especially when the weather people convinced us we might have to build an ark. We bought a generator and stocked up on food and water. My husband even closed his clinic mid-day to make sure his employees could be home before the storm hit.
After the worst of the rains my dear husband put on his wading boots and went outside with Piper to check out the damage from the flooding.
They both surveyed our property. So far so good, no noticeable flooding.
Oh no, there is some high water, better check it out.
Thank goodness my husband had the foresight to wear his high rubber boots. ;-)
I am making light of this, but I am really happy that Tropical Storm Bill was not as bad as predicted in our area. I am very thankful we have incredible weather predictions so we can prepare for the worst-case scenario. And I dare not laugh at Mother Nature because we live in a a low area and these types of storms can be deadly.
I am just happy I didn't have to deal with flooding AND food poisoning at the same time. Hope all of you guys are high and dry and enjoying your week! New freebie coming out tomorrow.
Piper is growing like a weed and is now 10 pounds and almost 11 weeks old. We found out his mother was part German Shepard and very fluffy but no one has any idea about his father. All of his siblings died, but one of his sisters looked just like him and the other three puppies looked like German Shepards. So I am thinking he will probably be medium to large. He just needs to catch up in weight now that he is finally healthy.
Anyone have tips on keeping our skin safe when he goes bat-poop crazy and starts biting? I am trying to teach him not to use people as his chew toys and it has been challenging. 95% of the time he is an angel, but that 5% crazy-time is really crazy!
