Jill sent me this lovely photo my way for me to use in my newest action. I love "artistic" edits and just invented a new fun way to automatically add colored magical light! I called this action "Confetti Lights" and you simply paint in colored light wherever you want in your image.
CoffeeShop "Confetti Lights" Photoshop/PSE Action Tutorial:
Open the image. I used this gorgeous portrait from Jill. Run "Confetti Lights". The action will flatten your image and apply the magical light effects on top. You won't see any changes until you paint the layer on your image by clicking on its layer mask and painting on it with a soft white brush.
This action can be used on any type of image including portraits, landscapes, still life, etc.
I painted in the "Confetti" layer. I kept the layer in screen mode but you can use soft or overlay blending for more contrast and adjust the opacity to taste. I would probably use 50% opacity, but I kept it at 100% so you can see it on your screen.
On this image I used the Bluebottle layer. I love this combo of blues and greens.
This is the Rosy Gold layer. I also love this one because it is so warm and inviting.
In this adorable baby portrait I applied "Confetti"after running my Creamy Luxe action. Don't hesitate to combine my actions, you can get really beautiful results. And customize the effect by adjusting the opacity of the light layer or changing the blending mode.
I hope you enjoy playing with this new action and I would love to see your before and afters on my Facebook page!

Hi, I just found your blog and LOVE it! I am new to PSE and wondering about using more than one action at a time. It seems when I load a second action set, I no longer can see the first. Am I doing something wrong?
ReplyDeleteHow do you think of this creative stuff??? Great idea to add a punch of color into winter photos. LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to thank you for these last 2 actions you have created...LOVE them both and have used them already on a senior shoot I recently did. Thanks again for your talent and your generosity. And I am excited about your collaboration with Jill Wellington. I have admired her work for quite a while.
