Merry Christmas to You and Your Family!!!

I have to confess I get a little jealous when I see the beautiful Winter Wonderland photos posted this time of year. But then I realize that I get cold really easy and would hate to shovel snow.

So instead, in early December we go to the Galveston Island and hang out on the beach.  It is off-season and usually not too cold.

I won't tell you it was super warm, but when the sun was out it was in the 60's.  I had on a long sleeve shirt and jeans.  The boys went all out and wore their swim shorts and spent hours in the water.  It makes me cold just thinking about it.

My husband and I went swimming too, in the hot tub.

The boys ran all over the beach and played in the sand.

Flew their kite.

Fed the seagulls with their cousins.

And discussed their philosophical thoughts about Minecraft, pet rats, and why five-year-old boys are so annoying.

We went to the Strand to the Mod Coffee Shop one afternoon.  There was a older gentlemen inside overseeing a table piled high with stockings, hats, and reindeer horns. As we walked by he insisted the kids all pick out a hat or stocking and offered them a cookie and a cupcake.

We thanked him and went up and ordered our drinks (coffee for me of course!) and were told that this kind gentleman was paying for everyone's drinks and treats this afternoon.  Every year he apparently has a Christmas party at this coffee shop and for a few hours treats everyone who shows up.

He wasn't advertising anything and didn't even give out his name.  His generosity and kindness really touched our hearts.  I think he was Santa Claus in plainclothes.  :-)

Merry Christmas to you and your family!
