Dog Days of Summer

I am sure you know by now that my favorite images are snapshots capturing a moment of our life. I had my camera out yesterday and happened to snap this photo. The boys are having a fight over creative differences in tearing up my yard and turning it into a construction site. Maple tried to intervene and add some digging power, but the boys yelled and threw mud at her. You can see her staring at them, unloved and dejected. Poor dog...

I used my ButterScotch Vintage action and vintage frame on this photo.  The dirt came free with the photoshoot.  And yes, they are in their underwear.

I have a few exciting things coming out in the next week or two.  I am working on a new texture tutorial for portraits which includes a nifty little action to help you remove texture on the skin yet still retain some of the color from the texture.  I used it on the image below (as well as a texture from Florabella).  I also have a few more actions, frames, and tutorials; I just need to get them all finished and up here.

And I also want to thank my loyal readers.  You are what makes the blog possible.  ♥

  3. Isn't that such a boy thing? My almost 3 year old son got very upset because we recently had irrigation put in and they seeded our yard and then put straw down over the whole thing. He kept saying, "They're covering my dirt up!"

Can't wait for the new texture action! It sounds awesome! Thank you so much for all you do and your generosity in sharing it with us!

  4. SO love your blog and appreciate all you do! Your actions and storyboards have been SO helpful to my business! I have, however, been looking for a Polaroid action and actual polaroid frame template for PSE. Would any of those be in the making?

  6. Rita, I love the "real" life photos you show of your kids. And the underwear reminds me that when I (a female) was that age, we all went around in shorts and no shirt in the summer! By the time I had my kids in the 60s, clothes, at least for kids, was in!
