CoffeeShop Vanilla B&W PS/PSE Action!

No Friday Photo Bliss shot this week...

We are all trying to recover from mono and I still don't have the energy to work on the computer, but luckily I had this action finished and ready to go. I will write up the tutorial when I feel up to it. :-)  I have a series of B&W actions I will be posting in the next weeks.   I also have a great little giveaway planned in the next day or two.  Thank you so much for all of you kind comments and generous donations during these trying times.  They really do help!

CoffeeShop Vanilla B&W is a very practical "does it all" B&W action. It turns your image a nice vanilla B&W (you can turn off the vanilla tint if you want for a classic B&W) and also gives your image a slight contrast boost and has an optional sharpen layer. You can see all of the layers below.

Adjust the opacity of the Vanilla Tint layer to taste.  The Sharpen layer is optional and will not be turned on after running this action.  If you need to sharpen your image, click on the little box to the left of the Sharpen layer to turn on the little eye (as seen above).  Then adjust the opacity of that layer.  You can lower the opacity of the Contrast Boost layer if needed.

Hope you enjoy this little action!  It is one of my favorite B&W conversion action and I use it all of the time.

Download the free CoffeeShop Vanilla B&W PS/PSE Action HERE or HERE.

Like most of my actions, this will run in PSE6 - PSE8 and all versions of Photoshop CS.  For complete info on installing all of my actions, click here! Post questions (after doing a search) at my CoffeeShop Flickr Group.

  2. You are welcome Tonya!

And you are the sweetest Morgan!!! I love this action (I think it is one of my favorites). One version of it was included in one of my oldest action sets which only ran in Photoshop. I updated it a bit, and it is still one of my favorite actions EVER!

  4. Wow. Rita, you are amazing! I can't believe you're even posting, let alone posting a freebie, with mono! My darling daughter is recovering from mono, Epstein-Barr variety, and she can barely take care of herself, let alone her little ones. (Which is why she just spent 3 weeks at my house! Happy me! )
    Thank you!

  5. Barbara, that is apparently the mono we have. How all four of us contacted it is beyond me. But everyone tells me it is normal to feel bad for weeks to months after having mono, so we are taking it one day at a time. Rita

  22. Thank you so much! I discovered your blog a while ago and love your actions! I I actually tried to run the Vanilla B&W because I loved it so much! I have PSE 8 and for some reason, it told me that it was not compatible with this version? Not sure why, but maybe I'll try again!

  26. Rita love, thank you SO much for yet another outstanding photo action! Your talent is amazing, as is your generous spirit!

I'm just catching up from having been away and am SO sorry to hear that your entire family contracted mono. WOW! I can only imagine the recovery process as it is difficult when one member of the family is very ill, let along every one.

Hoping and praying that y'all are feeling much better at the time of my post.

Thanks you again for the delicious gift!

    Hugs,
    Linda :D
