It was taken last spring and it is an image of my boys playing in the hay field. With all of the stress I have been going on in the last week with my computer woes, looking at this image on my wall instantly relaxes me.

I had them add the Embassy Texture (a combo of their linen and pebble textures) and it really is beautiful. You can see it in the image below.

Right now I'm digging the storyboard actions...the only thing I don't like (though this could be a me thing and not an action thing)is that when I open the photos to put in the template, it opens it full size and usually the photo is huge so it takes a bit to rearrange and make it not contort weirdly. I wish it would open at 50% or 25% of the original size and let me go from there.

ReplyDeleteAs far as my favorite CoffeeShop action...I'm not sure if this would quality, but I have just begun to dabble in Lightroom and I LOVE your ACR/Lightroom Scorched Honey preset! I believe the only thing you could improve on that is make it available as a PS or PSE action so others could enjoy as well.

Rita, I have recently fallen in LOVE with Standout Mounts and they are a favorite among my customers. I'm going to check out ColorInc too, as it's always great to compare printers.
ReplyDeleteI am a frequent user of your actions, and I think my favorite has to be the Dodge/Burn action. I use it ALL the time. Close second would be the Vivid [which I've used MANY times] and the Baby Powder Room. Those have been magic for my photos!
No suggestions on making them better - they are fabulous in my mind! You truly have given so many of us a gift with your actions and tutorials.

I would like a bit of variation in the chocolate because their skin tones are different :) but if you don't make any changes I am still happy as a clam with it!

I've had a few teens/adults that have skin redness due to acne. However, I've learned to adjust in other ways but adding something like that to this action would make it fabulous!!

ReplyDeleteThe two actions I use most are Perfect Portrait and Powder Room 2. I don't use Perfect Portrait as much anymore because on some photos it's just too much of an initial change and I can't remove or lessen all of the intensity. Changing some of the layers helps but not always. I use PR2 more now since I've started using Lightroom to make most of my initial adjustments and Powder room adds that perfect look to each sweet little face I'm working on. Thanks so much!

ReplyDeleteMy very favorite action is the CoffeeShop Denim. I've never been able to do this before (bringing out a selected color) before, unless I took hours doing it all by hand (and I've done it that way.. ugh!). I'd love if there were the same easy action for other colors.. like a red one and a green one. I'm sure there's a way to do it but I'm not very good with photoshop and haven't been able to figure it out. (even using the selective color one).

ReplyDeleteNot sure if they ship to Canada but if they do then my vote for a favourite action is perfect portrait! I would have suggested that you make Urban Grit a stand-alone action but since you just did that then it's all perfect!!

ReplyDeleteI would say rounded corners is my favorite because I always forget how to achieve this look and having an action means I don't have to "google" it on those occasions when I want to round corners. I love them ALL!! I use baby powder room the most - I am so grateful for that action. I think Butterscotch vintage is so beautiful. See....it's so hard to pick just one favorite.

ReplyDeleteI love so many of your actions, but the one I use the most has been eye bright. I use it on almost every portrait and it really makes a difference. Thank you for all the work you've put into your site and developing your actions. I have definitely taken advantage of them!
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love and never edit any picture without, powderroom and baby powderroom, the bright eye enhancemant and also the skin smoothing, I haven't found another action (I have bought some) that even comes close the results. I still find it hard to believe that all your amazing actions are free. Thanks so much!!

The one I use the most is probably baby powder room since I'm always photographing my two year old. Other favorites are the color pop and soft autumn glow.

Oh my goodness! I have to choose a favorite?! I love Honey Retro and Butterscotch Vintage. I don't think I would change a thing. I have to tell you I have paid for MANY actions and I have a ton of them on my PC and my PSE stays on my CoffeeShop folder all the time! I love all your actions! I can't believe they are free! I love all of your actions and I have all of them. If I had to choose...it would probably be sun kissed or perfect portrait, and definately all of the vintage actions. I would love to seea more washed out vintage action.

Baby Powder Room - love it and use it often on pics of my grandbaby. I can't possibly imagine how it could bed improved upon!

ReplyDeleteI would have to say that on a day to day basis of editing photos that the perfect portrait is definitely the asset action to use! But when you're wanting a little 'something special', I love your newer Urban Grit action. I get a little giddy when editing with your actions! :-)

The best action I've ever used is your Honey Retro action. Besides the great vintage look, I love the fact that it opens a new image which is very convenient. I love that I can adjust it to every picture I apply it to. And by going through step by step with the action, I've dialed in my own vintage treatments.

My favorites are Perfect Portrait and Splendor B&W. Since I am just getting into portrait photography, I have found that Perfect Portrait helps me get the look that I am going for, and my wife LOVES her headshot.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite action would have to be... well, is all of them a fair answer? If we were going by the ones I use the most it would have to be perfect portrait or s-curve pop. I'm seriously a huge fan of all of your actions though--you helped me learn Photoshop!
