I am a bit obsessed with photo corners, especially the vintage ones in my grandparent's photo albums. I wanted to make some in Photoshop and found this great tutorial. I made a set of them in a few minutes (well, maybe an hour off and on, the kids were a bit annoyed I was on the computer and not waiting on them hand-and-foot).
They are really quite realistic and I love using them. I thought you might want to play with the tutorial; or if you are lazy, I made a set (and a few vintage layered frames with clipping masks) that you can download for free! I hope you enjoy your new photo corners. :-) You can open these like any other image in Photoshop and Photoshop Elements.
If you want to change the frame colors of photo template 1, you just double click on the color fill layer box (where it says "Change color frame HERE"). Then select your frame color of choice using the eye dropper. If you need help using clipping masks, check out my tutorial here.

ReplyDeletelove all your work! Thanks for these! I love them!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for these great vintage looking frame templates!
ReplyDeleteThanks for these, I really like them!! I love sooo many of your freebies, been working with PSE actions & storyboards & textures a lot lately. I've got those down - doing something wrong with the photo corners though. Can anyone tell me if they're starting out by dragging the photo into the frame, free transform to get it the right size, and then I was hitting Ctrl G to group it like with a storyboard, and then it fits underneath the photo corners like it's supposed to. But I can't get my photo to show, only the black rectangle. I've tried a LOT of things at this point. So I'm pretty sure I'm doing something wrong. Thanks, if anyone can help! Sarah
ReplyDeleteYou are so amazing. Thanks for all your hard work!
ReplyDeleteI know this post is from years ago, but hopefully you'll still see this comment.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, I have never been able to get your actions to work. =( I really would love to get this one to work as it's the ONLY vintage photo corner action I can find online, but something is amiss!
When I download the .zip and open it, the only files inside are .psd files. Because there aren't any .atn files, photoshop can't run the action. Am I missing something? (I have Photoshop Elements 8 if is helps.)
Journeyfromself, these are simple image files, not actions. Just open them like any other photo. :-) Rita
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the photo album corners PSE file.
ReplyDeleteIn searching the web, I'd seen some incredibly-complex instructions to make them from scratch (which I don't have time for), but yours are superior.
Needless to say, I made a contribution. And I'll be back for more stuff! Thank you, Rita!
Thank you so much! I love these vintage corners. They are just what I was looking for!
ReplyDeleteThank you SO much! These are exactly what I was looking for :)
ReplyDeleteI realize this post is from awhile ago, but do you remember where you got the paper texture for the frames? I love it! I will also be using the corners for my save the dates :) Perfect!
ReplyDeleteI can't remember! I am sorry!
DeletePerfect! I'm lazy and using yours because they're exactly what I need. Thank you so much for sharing your talent.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Laura!
