CoffeeShop "Blue Velvet Luxe" Photoshop/PSE Action!

Yesterday I wrote a new action for Photoshop/PSE that I want to share with you. I called it "Blue Velvet Luxe" and it is fully adjustable like most of my actions. Blue Velvet Luxe can be stunning on outdoor images with beautiful light and can be used on portraits or still life images. I really love how it enhances tree bark.

CoffeeShop "Blue Velvet Luxe" Action Tutorial:

Here is my before image of my sweet little monsters.

This is the image after running the Blue Velvet Luxe action. I turned down the "Vignette" setting to 60% and reduced the "Moody Blues" layer to 70%. I used a 100% soft black brush on the "Darken Lights" layer mask to brighten the boys.

You can also customize the vignette.  Just click on the Gradient Fill layer on top and adjust the Scale setting to taste.

Here  is an image of my son and my niece. They were both really mad at me when I took this photo. It was hot and they were tired and did not want to pose AT ALL. And they were possibly sitting on snakes...

This is the image after Blue Velvet Luxe has been applied with no changes.

In this final image I changed the "Vignette" layer to Soft Light and lowered the opacity to 72%. I also reduced "Moody Blues to 71% opacity). Finally, I used a soft black brush on the "Darken Lights" layer on the children and the light coming through the trees to brighten the image.

I hope you enjoy this new action! I would love to see your edits using this action (or any of my actions) on my Facebook page.
