I am so excited for Thanksgiving. Isaac already made the cranberry sauce and the rest of the cooking can be done tomorrow. No huge turkey this year. Everyone loves dark meat in my family so I am roasting turkey legs and thighs. Luke will make mashed potatoes, I will roast some green beans, and Mom is baking a pear cobbler, butternut squash dish, and cornbread muffins. I am getting hungry just thinking about all of the delicious food!
Today I need to straighten up the downstairs, it has been severely neglected. Cleaning house is one of my least favorite things to do, but I love when it is clean. I am a neat person trapped in a slob's body. Well, it is not that I am a slob necessarily, but there are so many other things would rather do, like play on the computer, hike, or read a good book.
I am reading three books right now. One is a hardback thriller from the library that I read during the day (reading glasses or good lighting), one is a mystery I am reading on my Kindle at night (zoomed-in text and subtle light that won't bother Paul), and one is an intellectual nonfiction book that I pull out when I want to feel smart. Oh, and I am rereading "Tom Sawyer" since the boys are reading it for class. And yes, I get confused reading so many books.
There is nothing as nice as snuggling up on the couch during a cool fall day with a good book and flannel pjs. See what I did there? Today's freebie is a set of fuzzy winter flannel digital papers. They looks so soft and warm and they would be perfect for your fall/winter designs.
What are your plans for Thanksgiving?
Thank you so much, Rita, these are some of the most gorgeous flannels I've seen! Hello from Baytown (other side of Houston from ya). It's just the hubby and me this year, so we're having his famous oven pork ribs, corn casserole, green beans and black beans, Red Lobster cheese biscuits and apple cobbler. Neither one of us are fans of turkey. Happy Turkey Legs! xoxo
ReplyDeleteAimeslee, wow, thank you!! You are so close to my part of town! I love oven pork ribs, I make them all of the time. Much more yummy than turkey. Your dinner sounds delicious, I hope you had a wonderful time. We had cobbler too, pear and blueberry. It was a really nice dinner. Rita
