CoffeeShop "Amethyst Luxe" Fine Art Photoshop/PSE Action!

We are still dealing with the flu in our house, but it appears that we are over the hump and just need to allow ourselves to heal completely. This sickness really wiped us out. Paul had the flu shot and he was just as sick as the rest of us, so at least I am not wracked with guilt that I didn't get the kids and myself immunized. We never get the shot and we haven't had the flu in years, but this winter it really hit Texas hard.

Today I decided I was going to get some work done on the computer and I finally finished putting together my newest Photoshop/PSE action called "Amethyst Luxe". This edit applies a beautiful subtle amethyst tint and looks amazing on so many types of images. I think you will love it!

If you want to grab hundreds of my favorite actions/presets and get exclusive actions I wrote that you can't find anywhere else, please check out my CoffeeShop Download Packs. These packs are stuffed full of professional photographer goodies and purchase of them help support my blog and allows me to keep on posting freebies here!

I wanted to thank the photographers for the images I used in this post: (winter berries, wilting hydrangea, robin, lost athlete).

CoffeeShop "Amethyst Luxe" Photoshop/PSE Action Tutorial:

Run CoffeeShop "Amethyst Luxe" and adjust the Levels sliders under the curve and the left Output Levels slider for a final contrast adjustment. You can make further adjustments to this layer after the action finishes running.

Then adjust each layer to taste. In this example I increased the opacity of the "Lighten Shadows" layer.

I also increased the "Color Tint 1" opacity to add more of the subtle tint.

Finally I added my Cracked Stone texture in Overlay blending mode.

I hope you enjoy using this new actions! I would love to see your own edits on my Facebook page.

  1. It is possible that you had the flu but not the more deadly strains. The flu shot only protects against three specific viruses--influenza A (H1N1), influenza A (H3N2), and influenza B. All the various other types of flu can still bite you even with a flu shot. I am very happy to hear that you guys are at least on the mend. The flu, regardless of the strain, can really pack a wallop!

Today's action is lovely. The final image combining it with your latest texture looks awesome. Thanks so much Rita and I hope you all continue to feel much better as each new day goes by.

    1. You are so right, any of the flu strains are a pain in the rear!!! We are slowly getting better, day by day. And thank you so much for your kind comments. I had so much fun designing this new action.
