CoffeeShop "Honey Luxe Matte" Photoshop/PSE Action!

Well, we made it through the third major flood in the last two months. We are still in for some rain, but hopefully no additional flooding. Our yard is a mess and we have a leaky ceiling we have to deal with soon, but all else is well. We just need some sun back in our life! Imp (who is nine) told me yesterday that he feels draggy and tired and needs a Vitamin D supplement. ;-)

Today I have a really beautiful new action called "Honey Luxe Matte". This action applies a gorgeous honey tint, vignette, and soft matte effect and is completely adjustable.

In this post I used a beautiful portrait of a young boy  from Sarah Mak Photography (Facebook), a stunning floral image Sam of Bloom Photography,  and a beautiful portrait of a young woman from Adina Voice.

CoffeeShop "Honey Luxe Matte" Photoshop/PSE Action Tutorial:

Open your image and run "CoffeeShop Honey Luxe Matte".

This is what the image looks like after the action finishes. I usually like to make a few adjustments.

I almost always adjust the "Vignette" layer. I use a soft black brush on the layer mask to remove that layer from the center of the image. I also adjust the opacity.

Depending on the resolution of your image, you might want to turn down the "Define" layer's opacity. I usually adjust it on portraits so it doesn't over-sharpen skin.

Then I adjust the "Matte" layer.  There are two ways to do this. The quick way is to adjust the opacity of that layer.

Or alternatively I can open the "Matte" Levels adjustment layer and adjust the shadow and Output Levels slides until I have a perfect matte-effect.
