Today I have a new beautiful fine art texture set to share with you. The CoffeeShop "Artisanal Painted Texture Set #4" contains three beautiful textures. Two are colored and one is B&W so you can use it on your image without changing the color tone. These textures can be layered over your images or used alone as website backgrounds, digital papers, or in any of your digital designs.
In this post I used two beautiful portraits (redhead, girl with teddy) from Sarah Mak Photography (Facebook) and two stunning floral images (2nd) from Sam of Bloom Photography.
For this edit I added the B&W texture and put it in overlay mode and removed the texture from her face and hands.
CoffeeShop Floral Texture Tutorial:
Open your image. I am using this stunning floral still life from Bloom Photography.
Open the texture and drag and drop it on top of your image. Then Free-Transform (Ctrl-T) it to fit.
In this example I put the blue texture in Overlay, 100% opacity. You can also try Soft Light, Multiply, Screen, Hard Light, etc.
I wanted to remove the blue texture color off the center of the flower and petals so I will show you a quick trick I use all of the time. I have also written an action to do this and will post it in the next day or two.
Add a Hue/Saturation layer and turn the Master Saturation to -100.
I grouped this Hue/Saturation layer to the Texture layer and filled the layer mask with black to remove the entire effect. Then I used a soft white brush at 100% opacity on the layer mask to remove the blue from the center of the flower. Then I grabbed a soft white brush at 30% and painted most of the blue off the flower petals.
I love this soft texture edit!
