CoffeeShop "Timeworn Texture" Action and Art Texture Kit!

Today I am excited to post my newest action/texture pack. I called it "Timeworn Texture" and it includes an action and two aged textures. You can use any texture with this action, but I created these because they go perfectly with my action.

You can use these two textures without using the action, or even run a different action with them.

I designed the two textures included in this download using this vintage texture and this canvas texture. It is really fun to combine textures to get you own perfect texture. But remember, if you are going to sell or post for download any textures you create this way, make sure you to check the terms of use.

CoffeeShop "Timeworn Texture" Action Tutorial:

Open your starting image. I found this gorgeous flower on Pixabay. You can also download the purple one here.

Start the action and when prompted go open the texture and it will automatically be placed on your image. If you can't see all of it then Ctrl-0 (zero) to zoom out. Do the same to zoom back in.

Pull the transform bars until the texture is perfectly placed over your image. Then press the check mark to accept.

This is my image after the action finishes running. You can turn off layers, change the opacities, or paint on the layer masks.

If you use a different texture than the one provided in this set, you might have to change the blending modes of the texture. I use Screen, but try soft light, overlay, multiply, hard light or a combo of two.

I used a soft low opacity black brush on the Soft Haze layer and removed some of the haze off the center of the flower. I used the same brush on the top Texture layer and removed some of that layer off the flower.

In this example I used a different texture and I put both Texture layers into soft light blending mode.

Jill (Etsy ShopFacebook, Blog, YouTube Videos, Pixabay) sent hit gorgeous rose image to me (above) and I ran Timeworn Texture and added the scratched texture from the kit.

I put the top texture in soft light and the bottom one in screen blending mode (both at 100%) and I used a soft low opacity black brush on the layer mask to remove some of the texture off both layers. I turned off Shadow Pop and Soft Vintage Blue Tint.

I would love to see your own art using this set posted on my Facebook page!

  2. Great action Rita! Question about your actions in general... I have PSE13 but have been loading your actions the old fashioned way (go back to PSE10) so I have thumbnails and all of your actions are categorized as "Coffeeshop". I see that this one can be loaded the "new" way! Yay! Can all your actions be loaded into PSE13 the new and easy way?
