CoffeeShop "Soft Hazy Blues" Photoshop Action, Cracked Texture, and Tutorial: Part 1!

Today I have a  new editing kit to share with you. I call the edit "Soft Hazy Blues" and it includes a Photoshop/PSE action that adds a beautiful soft tint and automatically creates three optional custom light overlays, a special cracked artistic texture, and step-by-step instructions.

This action/texture looks beautiful applied to still life images but can also be used on landscapes or portraits. This is a wonderful way to turn your own images or a pretty stock photo into a work of art to hang on your wall or use on a card or your website/blog.

Here is the before and after on this beautiful image.

Today I will post the action and action tutorial and tomorrow I will post the texture. You can see the before/ + action/ + action and texture in the image below.

CoffeeShop "Soft Hazy Blues" Photoshop/PSE Action Tutorial:

I used this gorgeous image from Pixabay (you can download it here).

Start the action and it will apply the Soft Hazy Blues tint and then you will get a prompt that the action will now build the light overlay textures. Click Continue.

After the action finishes you will have two files, your tinted original image and three light overlays in one document (see screenshot above).

If you want to add the optional light overlays, they are all selected so you can just click on one of them and drag and drop them on top of your edited image.

They should automatically go under the Sun and Haze layers but you will have to resize them to fit.

Ctrl-T (free transform) them to cover your entire image. If you can't see the resize bars simply Ctrl-0 (zero) to zoom out and the same to zoom back in. You can make them even bigger if you want to add less light.

As you can see the overlays are now properly on the image.

Turn on the overlay that looks best with your image and turn off the other two. I only turned on the upper right  haze and I lowered the Fill down to 71%. You can also paint on the layer mask to remove some of the effect.

I also turned down the Haze layer to Fill 66%. I think this is a lovely soft edit.

On my next post I will continue this tutorial and add a beautiful cracked texture (free for download) as seen below.
