CoffeeShop "Claret Blush" Photoshop/PSE Action!

Great Deal!!!  PSE13 is on sale for only $50 right now (as I am posting) for Amazon Prime Members (save $40).  Hurry and grab it before the sale is over!

Photoshop Elements 13 is out and I have been assured by my reader testers that all of my actions that run in PSE12 work perfectly fine in PSE13, so don't be afraid to upgrade.  If you have PSE10 or below I would seriously consider the upgrade since PSE13 (like PSE11 and 12) make loading actions super easy (like Photoshop).  And today I noticed that if you are a Amazon Prime Member you can get the program for only $49.99!!!

Yesterday I blogged about my journey to better health and I posted my before/after photos.  My mother, who joined me in this journey, read my post and then texted me a before/after photo of herself for me to add to my post.  She wanted to show that our new lifestyle isn't only effective for a "youngster" like me, but even for a lovely woman in her 70's.

Today I have a new action that I called "Claret Blush" (ever time I say "claret" I use my Hannibal Lecter voice, go figure…).  This is a nice little action to run on landscapes/floral images and you can get completely different edits simply by turning off the top Tint layer or changing its blending mode to soft light, overlay, or multiply.

I wrote this action yesterday while editing some of my photos from last week.  The weather has been so nice and cool and I wanted to add some reddish-Fallish tint to my newest images.  I used a Curves adjustment layer and played around with the red, blue, and green channels and came up with this new action.  I am going to post a tutorial to show you how I use curves to add custom color tints to my images and I will include a free action that allows PSE users to use Curves in their own program, just like my Photoshop users.

If you use this action and love the results, please post your before and after image on my Facebook page. I love to see what you guys do with my actions!  Feel free to link your website/blog if you want me to visit.

Here is my original image.

This is what it looked like after I ran Claret Blush.  The Tint top layer is in soft light mode and looks soft and hazy.  I used a soft black low opacity brush to paint some of the haze off the flowers on the left.

In this version I changed the Tint layer to multiply blending mode.  I love the richness of this edit.

Finally, I turned off the top Tint layer.  This version is also very vibrant without all of the yellow tones of the one above.

I hope you enjoy playing with my new action! Download the  CoffeeShop "Claret Blush" Photoshop/PSE action.  You can also download it here.
