CoffeeShop Posy Photoshop/PSE Action and Tutorial for Beautiful Flower Art!

I want to wish all of my US readers a wonderful Memorial Day weekend and also say a special thanks to all of the brave men and women who have given their life in service protecting and defending our country.

And now for a fun little gif of my newest edit.  If you want to learn how to create animated gifs in Photoshop and PSE, please leave a comment and I will write a tutorial. It is really easy and fun.

If you have been following my blog you know that I have a passion for creative "artistic" editing in Photoshop/PSE. I also usually try to save time by writing adjustable actions I can use again and again to make my art.

Today I want to show you how you can use my newest free action, CoffeeShop  Posy, and some textures to turn your flower photos into your own beautiful art.  You can also download beautiful royalty-free images at Pixabay to use for practice or to make your own wall art, greeting cards, stickers, etc.

CoffeeShop Posy Flower Fine Art Tutorial:

1.  Open your image.  Run the CoffeeShop Posy Action and adjust the layers' opacity and use the layer masks when needed.  I found this pretty image over at Pixabay.

2.  This is the image after running the action.

3.  I took this edit one step further and added the Flypaper Papier Mache texture on top in Overlay blending mode, 100%.  I removed some of the haze layer off of the flower but made no adjustments to the texture layer.  I absolutely love all of the textures at Flypaper, and follow Jill and Paul's blog for editing inspiration.

4.  Here is my final edit.  I really love the final result.

Be creative and use your final images in calenders, greeting cards, gallery-wrapped prints, or even stickers.  Here I made a little custom sticker for fun.

Here is another version with tulips.  I found this image over at Pixabay.

This is the before and after running the CoffeeShop Posy action.  This is lovely but I want to add texture.  I am a bit of a texture addict…

This time I used three textures from the free Shadowhouse JJ Texture set.   I used JJ-13 in Multiply (34%) and removed it from the flowers, JJ-5 in Soft Light, and JJ-7 in Soft Light.

Here is the final edit.  Make sure you go grab these textures, they are simply gorgeous.  And leave a little something for Jerry if you get a chance, he has so many amazing things on his site and everything is free.

Download the CoffeeShop Posy Photoshop/PSE action.  You can also download it here.

  1. Yes, I'd like to know how to make animations in PS. A few years ago, I started my digi tryings with Paintshop, and they had a special program with it to create animations 'Jasq animation shop' and it was fun to use. But to be honest, I didn't search for something similar in PS yet. So I would be happy with the tutorial.
By the way, you once posted something about making watercolor art but for with your Phone, and said you would see if it is possible with pc, did you find something already ? Thanks for all the good stuff you bring us. I really like your posts. Yolande
