Inside toilets RULE!

If you read my black widow spider post and were scared, I just wanted to add some more to it. I just found out from my mother-in-law that my husband's great grandfather DIED of a black widow spider bite! It was back in the days before inside toilets and going to relieve yourself was often a very hazardous situation with the snakes and spiders and scorpions and lack of soft toilet paper. So the last part (toilet paper) is a joke, but it was dangerous back in those days and quite a few people died from bites of venomous creatures that hid out in little dark buildings. These things just remind me how lucky we are to be alive now with inside toilets and Nutella and pacemakers and A/C.

And I see from the comments that many of you have faced these scary little spiders and you did it so bravely! My grandmother just told me that she finds them in her flowerbeds all of the time and she lives 10 minutes away, so why I haven't seen one before I haven't a clue. Lucky or just blind?
