CoffeeShop 4 Corners Storyboard Template!

This new storyboard was named after the major intersection in the small Texas town I grew up in. At Four Corners there was this huge monster oak tree that had been around forever and was the pride of our town. Well, along comes bigger roads, more cars, more strip malls, more subdivisions, more junk food restaurants, more gas stations; and even though the town resisted fiercely, the developers cut that gorgeous tree down. I can't tell you how upset the people of our town were, but there was nothing they could do, after all, it was "only a tree". But I can tell you not many people admire or rest under the shade of that gas station that took the place of our old oak tree...

When you live out in the "country" like I do, progress usually isn't pretty. The country becomes the suburbs, the suburbs become urban sprawl. It is ironic because all of those thousands and thousands of people move out here to escape the city and live in the country. Well, now where just a few years ago we had cow pastures, farm houses, and wide open spaces and beautiful woods, we now have just down the road the sprawl of cookie cutter houses with no trees, strip malls, traffic, pollution, crime, and a sky that refuses to get dark enough most nights for my kids to see the stars at night.

CoffeeShop 4 Corners Storyboard is a .psd image file (not an action!) for Photoshop and Photoshop Elements and has clipping masks (see my tutorial here if you don't know how to use them).

  2. That is so sad about the tree in your town. I live in the country and love looking at the stars at night - it is a great inspiration.
Thank you for all your work.

    Cheers

  3. It is so sad to see our forests and plains gobbled up by concrete, asphalt and yet another shopping center. I too miss the starry nights....searching for that falling star among the many others. The glow of the shopping centers and street lights all around don't hold a candle to them.

Thanks Rita....looking forward to the Vintage Honey Action!

  7. Thank you for sharing the story of that tree. My small home town just went through the same thing. This oak was nearly 500 years old and the city thought nothing of chopping it down even though there was a law protecting it. They claimed that they didn't have to follow the law that they created! Then they chopped it quickly even as opposition grew and appeals were filed. Perhaps the saddest part was that it was chopped up and sent to a landfill! I guess "progress" has its downside.

Thank you for the beautiful storyboard. I can't wait to put it to good use!
