CoffeeShop Vintage Digital Papers 6!

I am so excited to let you know that Viki Reed mentioned my blog in a post! So amazing to be surrounded by such cool/talented people.  Thank you Viki!  And I couldn't do it without my readers, so thank you too!

I have a new set of vintage digital papers I wanted to share with you today.  I know I am releasing a lot of papers recently, and there is a good reason.

I love making textures/digital papers, but putting together the "ad" for my blog always takes so much time; and honestly, it is boring.  So I decided to take an hour of my day and finally write an action to do the work for me.  Now I can build the ad in just a minute or two, so now I can have fun creating the papers and not spend all of my time putting together the ad for my blog.  I love actions!

To design this set I used some of my own textures and brushes, and some design elements from The Graphics Fairy, a texture from Shadowhouse Creations and a texture from Chasing Dreams.

I have a few digital paper tutorials posted already, but I will put together a new one.  I basically use several layers of different textures (fabric, stone, scratches, painting, etc) in different blending modes (soft light, overlay, multiply, etc) and then use my cloning tool on the different layers to add/remove details.  It takes some work and each paper is never really finished because I keep on playing.

Then I use my Graphic Art action to make transparent pngs from different design elements and drag them on the design and either lower the opacity or change the blending modes.  Each paper might have 10-15 layers when I am finished with it.

If you decide to make your own digital paper, please check out some of my favorite texture designers like Shadowhouse, Chasing Dreams, and Flypaper.  You could also buy some beautiful digital papers from someone like Hazy Skies and add your own vintage spin by layering additional textures/design elements.  Have fun!
