{Friday Photo Bliss} Sleeping Boys, Loving Puppy, and Rats in my Castle!

On Fridays I like to post snapshots I took during the week that make me happy.

I used to take rolls (oops, just dated myself) of photos (oops, I did it again) of my boys sleeping. But once they started getting bigger I stopped. So this week I decided to snap a few new ones.

He sleeps like an angel. He is my night owl.

This guy also sleeps like a sweet angel. He actually woke up and I forced him to fake sleeping for this image. He is a morning bird, up at 6:30am or so every day.  I told him no one really wants a worm so he should sleep in, but he can't help it. He usually grabs a book or a pile of Legos and entertains himself until we get up.

"Mommy, I just love you so much. I will just sit here with my head on your knee and stare at you with adoration. I don't want anything, I just want to express my deep connection with you."

"Wait, did you just say "walk"?"

We are finishing up school for the year as I want to take off the entire month of August. We take a lot of breaks during the cooler months, so we always have work left to do during the summer.

But our afternoons are free and we can go pick blackberries and figs with our friends.

It was in the 90's but my kids hate sunscreen (can't blame them) so we wear our "breathable" hiking shirts (SPF 50!), hats, and jeans. The jeans are dual-use, they protect us from sunburn AND snakes, spiders, and ticks.

We were the only nerds dressed like this. Almost everyone else picking fruit showed up in shorts, tank tops, and flip-flops. We might have almost died of heat-stroke, but we were protected!!! ;-)

Coconut was hanging out with me while I was reading in Duke's bed. I dragged out the old castle so she could explore it.

She was a little freaked out at first but soon made herself at home. Luckily she is too big to fall through the trap-door on top.

She thought she was hiding in this image. ;-)

Meanwhile, Oreo wanted to take a selfie. I showed her how to do it but her little arms are too short so she was too close to the lens. She got upset after seeing this blurry image and ran off to pout in the castle. Coconut wisely pointed out that she doesn't need a perfect selfie to feel good about herself. Coconut is a good friend.

Have a great weekend everyone!!!
