{Friday Photo Bliss} Tubing San Marcos, Zombies, and Kombuchaholic

On Fridays I like to post snapshots of our week that make me happy.

Road trip to San Marcos, TX in my adored Granny Mobile (2000 Grand Marquis.)

Tubing the San Marcos River.    We originally tied the kids to our deluxe-double-tube with built-in cooler and storage compartment.

That didn't last long.

Enjoying the 100F sun on my top and the 72F freezing spring water on my bottom after we released the kids.

Paul doing his best impression of a mature (like a fine wine) Chippendale dancer. This photo cracks me up every time I look at it. I am going to print it and put it on my fridge.

Yes, this is the life. The perks of the cold spring-fed San Marcos river is the lack of snakes, alligators, flesh-eating bacteria, brain parasites, and mud. Basically everything that we have in most lakes and rivers in our area that make you feel like a BAD MOM if you let your kids swim where you used to swim when you were a kid.

I felt like I was floating down a beautiful river in England. In a global-warming-fear-mongering movie where the summer temperature of over 100F is hot enough to fry an egg on the pavement and people were turning into zombies and eating each other.

Basically every summer in Texas... Well, except for the zombie part.

The next day the neighbors dropped off Piper. He spent 24 hours playing with their three big dogs. He was rather exhausted.

So were we. My "baby" still likes to snuggle. Sigh, I love that...

After recovering from our short road trip I decided to inventory my Kombucha. It appears I might have a serious drinking problem... ;-)

Have a great weekend!
