I was playing around in Lightroom this weekend and created this really cool preset set that I want to share with you. This Lightroom preset set has two presets that turn images into really lovely silver B&W's with a hint of violet.
The boys called this edit "Silver Violet". They love to sit besides me and watch me edit and experiment. They have started playing in PSE and happily they are as nerdy as their mom.

Today I spent some time going through old images from when we lived out in the country (2005-2012). Until recently it made me quite sad looking back at all of those happy images I captured during those seven years. I really had a difficult time with our move. I grew up in the woods and always pictured myself living on a farm with my family. My boys' early childhood was spent playing on those fields.
I have always had problems with change, big or small. However, my boys never looked back, other than occasionally mentioning that they miss playing on the hay bales. My kids are wiser than me and live in the present and don't waste time thinking about (or regretting) the past. I love that about them. They are always teaching me such important life lessons.
Today as I was looking for some images for this post I realized that for the first time in a long time I felt joy while looking through these older photos. They were wonderful years and I am so happy that we were able to experience them together. And now we are making new joyful memories in our new house. Life is good. :-)
