What Do You Want To See On CoffeeShop Next Year? I Want Requests!

I just wanted to point out a few free Kindle photography books that just listed on the best seller list this hour.  I don't have these yet (I just downloaded them all) and they look really good.  Grab them while they are free!

I would like to personally thank you for visiting my blog.  Thanks to your generosity and enthusiasm I have continued to be inspired to create new actions, presets, digital designs, and tutorials to post here on CoffeeShop.  Because of your visits, donations, sponsorships, and action download and blog design purchases, I have this incredible creative outlet while also being able to spend time at home with my children.  Without your generosity I could not afford to keep this website going, so my family and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. ♥

When I first started this blog I decided that I wanted to provide a free resource for photographers and digital designers.  Our family, like so many out there, has had to watch every penny we spend since I choose to leave my fabulous genetic lab job (yes, I was a lab rat) so I could stay at home with the boys.  EyeGuy also decided he wanted to start his own optometry business during this time (while paying off student loans for his degree needed to start the business).  We had two babies, a rental house over our head, health insurance, and food; but no extra money for anything nonessential.

Because of this, most of what I have learned about photography/design had to come from free resources on the internet. When the babies were awake I had my camera out, capturing every moment.  When the babies slept I would read photography and editing tutorials online and play for hours and hours in Photoshop and Lightroom.  EyeGuy was working seven days a week those early years, so I had plenty of alone-time to keep busy on my hobby.  I spent so many hours researching and experimenting, late into the night.  But it wasn't "work", I loved it!

As I had intellectually benefited so much from the generosity of amazing bloggers out there, I wanted to "pay it back" and write my own tutorials and post editing/design freebies (with free commercial terms-of-use) for those of you watching your money.  And because of your readership and support I hope to continue this tradition through 2014 and beyond!

I am always trying to keep up with photography/digital designing trends, but I really want to know what YOU want to see on my blog next year.  Please leave a detailed comment about new actions/presets/storyboards/tutorials you would like to see me post up here on CoffeeShop.  If I think your suggestion is something that my readers will enjoy, I will work on getting it up here.  Pretend that you have your own personal designer willing to work for you for free!  No design request is too big or too small.

Have a wonderful New Year Eve!  We are planning on watching a few Penguins of Madagascar (free on Amazon) while enjoying some "fancy" finger food with the kids.  Then we will shoot off a few fireworks around 8 (not the really noisy ones, they freak out the boys and the dog) and then hope to get the kids to bed so EyeGuy and I can have a quiet evening with a glass of wine (boxed) and a movie.  Not very exciting perhaps, but pretty much our standard New Year Eve's party since we got married.  Who am I kidding, we have never had an exciting New Year's Eve unless you count the one time we went to a hotel (before kids) with some friends and my parents  and everyone got food poisoning.

It is the simple things in life that make life so good, especially if you can keep dinner down.  ;-)

Do you want to download my favorite CoffeeShop PSE/Photoshop Actions and Lightroom Presets or Design Elements in one convenient zipped file AND help support this blog? Just click here for my action pack or here for a download of some of my most popular design elements, storyboards, and textures.

  1. First of all, THANK YOU for your generosity!! You have saved me money, and more importantly, TIME! Plus, I've finally mastered the art of using Photoshop actions because of you! Thank you!! I was hoping to see an "anti-jaundice" action. It is my biggest challenge with newborn photography and although I can usually squeak by with altering colors and trying filters, I would love to see an action where I could just "paint" the jaundice away, since it tends to be worse in the little folds. Thanks again for all your efforts, I look forward to your 2014 posts!

  2. I love your blog! Since you asked...I'd love some more templates. Like card templates, mini accordion album templates, marketing templates...I'm a template junkie. :) I also love reading your homeschooling posts, so keep those coming as well!

  3. I love your generosity, heart and talent!! If I would pick one thing I would love to see..the first that comes to mind is an action that produces results like Kerrianne Browns photos. I can't figure out how she does it but I LOVE IT! That would be the bee's knees!! Happy New Year! :)

  4. i love everything you post and your tutorials have opened wide a door in which i was stuck fumbling with the handle.

i love reading about your boys --- mine are grown and have moved beyond such a close influence as these days of childhood.

i like overlays and the subtle use of them, and sometimes the outrageous use to produce otherworldly scenes.

  5. Thank YOU for such an awesome blog. Since having my 15 month old I've been crazy about taking pictures and your actions have been an incredible help in aiding my limited photoshop elements/LR skills. If I could ask for something it would be some pse actions for indoor shots. Most of these actions just seem to work better on outdoor photos and I'd love to have a great editted look to indoor photos. Thanks again and happy new year!!
