Free Sun-Kissed Preset From the Pretty Presets Nostalgic Summer Collection!

>> Thursday, June 30, 2011

I love LightRoom, and honestly I haven't written many LightRoom presets because I already have many of the amazing ones from Pretty Presets. I really love Laura's newest collection, Nostalgic Summer. You can see a few before/after samples below. Aren't they gorgeous?

"Thank you to Spanki Mills Photography for the use of these beautiful images."

Want to try a preset from the Nostalgic Summer Collection for free?  Just click here to be directed to 4shared to download the free Sun-Kissed LR Preset.  NOTE:  This preset does not work in PSE or Photoshop.  It is for Lightroom 1,2 and 3 only!

I used it on my jpg image below (these presets are intented to be used on RAW images) and it worked perfectly.  I just adjusted the exposure a tiny bit but changed nothing else.

And once you play with the preset please go to the Pretty Preset Facebook page to thank Laura for the freebie, and also visit the Pretty Presets website to look at all of her amazing LR preset collections.

What a fabulous freebie...I wish I could take advantage of it, but I don't have "Lightroom", but will look into it. I love the look these filters give.

Have a great day.

I would like to know how to load your and PW's actions into PSE 9. I was afraid to follow the instructions for 7 & 8 as they didn't mention if they would work for 9.

Thank you for the sample! I love Lightroom! I now do 98% of my editing in it!

Have you put out something similar to this for PSE?? I love the look of the light -- have been searching for something that would do this. Any ideas for PSE users??

Rita July 1, 2011 4:32 PM

Kate, I haven't had much time to think about it, but you could try this for a warm look in PSE.

1. Add a levels adjustment layer and move the middle slide to 1.25 or so, then put that levels layer in soft light blending mode.
2. Add a color fill layer at hex#c9ad7d and put that layer in soft light.

This really warms up an image.

Thank you Rita and Laura for sharing this preset! I've recently purchased LR and LOVE using it! I do almost all my editing there now. This is a beautiful preset and I'm excited to try it out!

I am so happy you are enjoying the presets. Thank you so much for all the kind words. You can visit our site at www.lightroompresets.com and download other free presets. :) Enjoy!

can you not use jpegs in lightroom? I havent used raw and not fimiliar with it.

Rita July 5, 2011 12:56 PM

You can use jpgs in LR3, I shoot mostly jpgs now and edit them all in LR first. However, most presets are made to be used on RAW images so they might be too much on your jpgs. Jpgs are edited in camera already.

Does anyone know why this awesome preset won't open in my LR? When I double click on the file, it says it can't find a program to open it...any tips?

I'd love to have these too, but cs5 is the only thing I have :(
