Imp's Art

We are all still very sick with mono.  My husband is dragging himself to work (he works Sat. until 2) so I get to stay at home and relax...  As much as you can relax with a 3 and 5 year old who are sick yet still have high energy levels.

I have mentioned before I don't like my kids watching much TV.   Yeah, that goes out the window when I am sick.  Yesterday we all watched TV ALL DAY LONG.  Yes, my kids sat in front of the idiot box watching mom-approved television for hours and hours while Mommy watched cable news.  Thank goodness for commercial free Nick Jr and Construction and Farming videos.  I can't read to them because of my throat, severe constant headache, and cough and I don't have the energy to play with them, so they are getting babysat by the TV.  Mom guilt and mono, what a great combo...

Anyway, today Imp wanted to cut paper and draw and he called me into the kitchen to show me a drawing of Mommy.  Sick as I am I cracked up and ran to get my poor dusty neglected camera and took this photo.  Oh my, that is exactly how I feel right now.  Look at that frown!  Oh, I love these two boys of mine.

Thanks for all of your kind supportive comments on my last post.  I am taking your advice and taking it easy.  I am just glad the kids are taking it in stride and doing pretty well, considering. Today I actually feel a tiny bit improved (I only feel 75% like I want to die), so good news!

  1. When mom is sick all the rules change, especially when mom has mono. Hope you are feeling better soon. And why dear god is it that when kids are sick they still have so much energy? I just don't get it.

  4. Hey Rita. Well, 75% is much better than 100% in this situation. Hopefully by the end of next week it will be back down to 0%. Love the pic of Imp...he is so cute and looks so much like you :)

  6. awe!! That's how my little man draws his people. When I was pregnant he drew a tiny person in the belly area.

I hope you feel better soon. I had mono in high school, it lasted months.. :/

  7. When mom is sick, almost anything is fair. Someone really needs to bottle the energy kids have and sell it - they'd be wealthy in no time flat.Feel better soon!

  8. So sorry you have to go through this sickness. It is bad enough when your kids are sick but when Mom is sick it just plain sucks! I had something similar in Jan. and coughed so much I had to wear hospital pads because EVERY.SINGLE.TIME I coughed I peed my pants:(

Take it easy and I hope you feel improved by next week;)

  9. Glad you feel a tiny bit better Rita. I love the pic, I think I have one that looks exactly like that from my daughter:)
One of my girls had mono when she was about 12, man she was so sick! Took her weeks to recover, and she lost so much weight her jeans all fell off of her!
Hope yours doesn't last that long!
